It was a romantic evening at the Omni King Edward Hotel in downtown Toronto, celebrating the wedding of Mona and Ata. Their glowing candlelight reception was intimate and memorable, and I knew from the beginning that this couple was ready to have the Persian wedding of their dreams. During our consultation, they wanted a Persian wedding MC that could bring high energy to the table and keep the flow going throughout the evening- that’s why MC Arya was a perfect choice.

There were zero dull moments! The couple started the evening with slow dancing to the classic song Can’t help falling in love by Elvis Presley. Their first dance was well-rehearsed and elegant as the two love birds swayed back and forth. Soon after, all their guests poured onto the dance floor, ready to dance the night away.

Touching speeches were given by close friends and family, which I find is a great way to learn more about the couple and their relationships. Personally, short and sweet speeches are my favourite because they capture the audience’s attention (and it leaves more time to party).

As a DJ for Iranian weddings, I love the traditional knife dance before the official cake cutting. It’s a fun tradition where the closest friends of the bride steal the knife away from the bride and groom before the groom pulls out the money in exchange for the knife. Each friend has a moment to dance with the knife before finally passing it on to the couple to finally cut the cake.

It’s also fun to see which friend is going to catch the bouquet during the bouquet toss, which you can see in the video posted below.

Overall, it was a great night full of loving energy in the room for the bride and groom.

Congratulations Mona and Ata!
